If you are doing a complete rebuild of your rear suspension, including the stub axles, you might consider replacing the stock VW spacers inside the axle housings. This six piece set is made of high carbon steel, and is tougher than the original VW spacers. Highly recommended for wider than stock wheels, or off road abuse.
