This all new construction alternator is rated at 55 Amps. This alternator has more than enough charging power for a VW. It will fit any VW with an “alternator” stand (support casting), or any ’71 and later VW that came with an internally regulated unit. Some cars that came with an external regulator may require modifications to the wiring loom for installation. Made in China
